That’s My Amboy has been on the air for only two nights and already, the rom-com is gaining followers.
We can’t blame them, the show is a riot!
The scenes and dialogues are funny, refreshing, and give viewers lots of reasons to laugh.
Barbie Forteza, who plays the role of Maru, excels as the caring and determined daughter of Lito (John Arcilla) and Cecille (Donita Rose) Tapang.
She fits the role of Maru perfectly. She’s feisty, brave, but sweet and thoughtful at the same time.
Andre Paras, the Amboy Bryan Ford of the series, is very convincing as a bratty star.
He looks classy but loses his control when it comes to dealing with Maru.
Their clashes whenever they get near each other would make anybody laugh.
The dialogues are crisp and down to earth.
For example, when Bryan was forced by his manager Divine (Meryll Soriano) to say sorry to Maru for a road accident he caused, he said to Maru:
Look, I’m sorry kahit it was your fault, it’s my fault, kaya peace.
…then he flashed a fake smile at Maru.
Maru was not touched by his sorry and did not accept his apology.
She said:
Hindi ako o-oo dahil kung lahat ng bagay sa mundo, nakukuha sa sorry e ‘di sana hindi na nag imbento ng kulungan.
Thereafter, a near brawl followed, with Bryan and Maru quarrelling in front of almost the whole barangay.
That’s just one of the many comic scenes that you will get to see when you watch “That’s My Amboy.”
