Alden Richards hugs Yaya Dub for first time

Alden Richards hugged Yaya Dub for the first time on Kalyeserye. And he did it not only once, but twice on ” Sa Tamang Panahon” at the Philippine Arena.

In front of a crowd of 55,000 and millions more watching on tv, Alden Richards’ broke down once again when he sang and dedicated the song God Gave Me You” (GGMY) to Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza.

Unable to control his emotions(GGMY) in the middle of the song, Alden stopped and hugged Yaya Dub tightly for about 11 seconds. He touched her head lightly and pulled her closer to him.

It was the couple’s first official hug and it was a very emotional one. Both of them were teary eyed, and so were the tens of thousands in the audience and probably AlDUb fans at home.

The second time that Alden hugged Yaya was in front of Lola Nidora, Tidora, and Tinidora.

When Maine said “God gave me you” to him, Alden gave her a bear hug again and held her head closer to him. This time, it lasted longer, around 25 seconds. When he stopped hugging her, he was in tears. Yaya Dub had to wipe his tears away.

A lot of firsts in the history of the AlDub love team also happened during the event

Yaya Dub held onto Alden’s arm for the first time, when he offered it like a knight in shining armor. They walked on the stage with Yaya Dub being escorted gallantly by Alden Richards.

They held hands for real, that’s another first. And once they did, they almost never let go.

It was the first time that Alden placed his arm on Yaya Dub’s shoulders, the first official “akbay”, without anyone pushing him to do it. Yaya Dub ,meanwhile, gave Alden a waist hug.

They had their first dance like a real couple. They danced the traditional waltz like a prince and princess. A stylized waltz version of GGMY served as their music.

It was also the first time that Alden knelt on one knee in front of Yaya Dub. First, when he placed that Cinderella-themed shoe on her foot. He knelt again, when he serenaded her with their theme song, “God Gave Me You”.

All these highlights propelled the #ALDubEBTamangPanahon hashtag to achieve a Twitter all-time high record of around 39 million tweets on October 24.
