Aldub Nation breaks Super Bowl record with 29 million tweets and counting

AlDub nation breaks Super Bowl record

As of 6:40 pm, on October 24th, the #ALDubEBTamangPanahon hashtag registered 29 million tweets. It surpassed the Super Bowl Twitter record of 28.4 million tweets as early as 6:30 pm.

But it is not the Super bowl record that the AlDub nation is targeting. They are aiming for 36 million tweets, which they say symbolizes the 36 years of Eat Bulaga.

By doing so, they will be hitting two birds with one stone. If and when they get 36 million tweets for the ALDubEBTamangPanahon hashtag, they will also break the 35.6 million tweets claimed by FIFA.

The FIFA record of 35.6 million Twitter posts was established in July 2014 when Germany had an upset win over Brazil in the World Cup semi-finals. Though there was no definite hashtag , the game generated millions of Twitter messages and posts that day.

The AlDub fans are having real conversations about the recently-concluded event, “Sa Tamang Panahon”. The event marked the beginning of a new phase in the history of the AlDUb love team. It was held at the country’s biggest events venue, the Philippine Arena.

Lola Nidora has finally granted her permission to Yaya Dub and Alden Richards to do what they think is right for their relationship. “Sa Tamang Panahon” has finally come for the AlDub love team.

Rishi Jaitly, Twitter’s Asia Pacific and Middle East VP already sent a video clip congratulating the AlDub nation for what he calls is a global phenomenon. He said the whole world is watching how this feat is being achieved by the AlDub fans.

As of this writing, the 30 million mark has been surpassed at 7:22 PM.
