She suggests that those animals from the said zoos, be transferred in reputable animal sanctuaries instead, like the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary in Busuanga Island, Palawan.

This is terrible. All i know for sure is that this isn’t the first.

I believe it’s best if they just close down Manila Zoo and even Malabon Zoo, quite honestly.

These animals deserve to be in much better sanctuaries. I wouldn’t like to think they should be released in their true homes because either they’d be helpless in surviving on their own (because they were raised in captivity), hunted down and killed, or both.

I hope our government won’t forget we actually have “zoos”. I wouldn’t even call them zoos. But more importantly, i hope our government will just close these zoos down and transfer the animals to sanctuaries such as the one in Calauit.

Government officials, PLEASE HELP.

Many netizens agree with Carla, and some even shared their own experiences when they visited local zoos.

Some commenters claimed that the animals are malnourished, the zoos smell, a baby tiger is chained (in a zoo in Tagaytay), and a lot more horror stories.
