Liza Soberano, one of the most beautiful actresses in Philippine showbiz is about to become a full-fledged recording artist.
The good news was confirmed by talent manager Ogie Diaz in an Instagram post on May 30.
Ogie posted a groufie of him, Liza, and other Star Music staff. He excitedly announced Liza’s first album in the caption:
@lizasoberano music album in the works! Meeting with the Star Music staff Rox Santos, Jonathan Manalo and managing director @roxy.liquigan. Abangan! #SingerNaSiLiza #MaiinlabKaSaMgaSongs

Those who know Liza only as a young dramatic actress of blockbuster movies and top rated teleseryes, might be surprised by Ogie’s post. This new turn in Liza’s career is refreshing news. But, can she swing it? Can the gorgeous Liza even carry a tune?
Apparently, she can. More than that, she can also rap and play the guitar. Don’t expect her to be a belter though, “birit” is not her style at all.
Liza’s sweet voice falls more along the likes of Taylor Swift or Carly Rae Jepsen. But there are YouTube videos wherein Liza dabbles in of songs of different genres. Her repertoire ranges from Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain, to Clean Bandit’s Rather Be, to Fifth Harmony’s Worth It, and more.
She also has an OPM , titled “With You In My Life” with over 747,000 views on YouTube.
Her music video for Carefree Philippines titled “Feeling Carefree” landed on the 4th spot of top 10 trending music videos in the Philippines. The music video currently has about 3.7 million views on YouTube.
Basing on these stats alone, we’re guessing Liza’s album can achieve gold record status easily.
Ogie had already hinted about Liza’s album last year. Her loyal fans have been waiting for a year for any concrete development regarding the album. The talent manager’s post was thus met with enthusiasm, many of the fans already raring to get hold of Liza’s album and asking for its release date.
Though most of the details are still under wraps, Ogie’s hashtag statement that fans will fall in love with the songs included in the album, seems like a guarantee that Liza’s debut album is worth the wait.
