KC Concepcion raises funds for over 30,000 school meals for kids

KC Concepcion recently announced on Instagram that through her online shop, an equivalent of more than 30,000 meals for schoolchildren in southern Philippines, had been raised.

The actress is known for her commitment to promoting her advocacy of Zero Hunger and is in fact a National Ambassador Against Hunger of the United Nation’s World Food Programme.

One of KC’s efforts in support of her advocacy is an e-commerce social enterprise site, www.kcscloset.com.

Launched in April 7, KC’s online store sells her pre-loved luxury items at very reasonable prices. Every 10 pesos worth of purchase or donation is equivalent to one meal for a child. Each item’s tag price comes with a description as to how many school meals it can provide.

A week ago, KC posted on Instagram a picture of her with the following message:

Thank you everyone who supports & shops at www.kcscloset.com! We have raised an equivalent of more than 30,000 school meals for kids in southern Philippines! That & counting! That means, KC has already raised more than P300,000, in just more than 2 months of her online store’s existence. Can you imagine how much KC can raise in the years to come?

Once again, her followers lauded her philanthropic deed and a lot of them described her as a “beauty with a golden heart”.

Though KC is not alone in Philippine showbiz with this kind of charitable work, she is one of the most consistent and persistent in her altruism.

May your tribe increase, KC! The country needs more people like you.
