Alden Richards' book expected to be a runaway bestseller
The Pambansang Bae’s Wish I May album has just turned 7x platinum and yet he has not rested on his laurels yet. Alden Richards just keeps on pushing, maximizing the benefits of his current popularity by coming out with a book titled “Alden Richards: In My Own Words”.
The book was announced by Alden about a month ago. He said that the book will give his fans a chance to know more about his private life. It contains details about how he is as a person outside of his showbiz persona.
It will also give details of his projects before his rise to stardom and his journey as an artist.
Expect a chapter dedicated to his serendipitous team-up with the other half of AlDub, none other than Dubsmash Queen Maine Mendoza.
On July 18, Alden posted on his social media accounts a picture of him with pages of his book spread out before him. On Facebook, he captioned it with:
I can’t wait to share this special project with everyone! It has bits of my past, personal photos, and lots of surprises! Coming soon from @summit.books #AldenInMyOwnWords
A day later, Alden posted a copy of the book and informed his followers that the book is available in selected bookstores for only P250 a copy. He also urged his fans to grab a copy of the book and thanked them in advance.
Judging from the reaction of the fans on social media, Alden’s book will be a runaway bestseller. A lot of his supporters have already bought a copy, some of them even bought more than one copy. Those who are currently abroad are lamenting the fact that they cannot buy at once and are asking their relatives to buy a copy for them.
If Alden’s book follows the path of his very successful “Wish I May” album which has sold about 105,000 copies (7x platinum x 15,000), then we can expect his book to sell almost the same number of copies. Even at half the sales of his album, we’re still talking about 50,000 copies at least, that will fly off the shelves.
Alden had become one of the hottest male celebrities in local showbiz, mostly because of the AlDub phenomenon. And while he is still at the peak of his career, his management team has taken advantage of all revenue streams for Alden.
Having been in showbiz for 4 years without really hitting it big until AlDub came along, Alden knows that he has to take advantage of his current status.
Alden had always said, “strike while the iron is hot”. Right now, the iron is still very hot, so expect the Pambansang Bae to embark on more projects in the near future.
TVCs, concerts, mall shows, albums, mag covers, scents, restaurant business, and now a book. Yes, the face of Alden Richards is just about everywhere. And it may stay that way for quite some time, for as long as the AlDub magic continues.
