Some people now call Liza Soberano as the Eight Wonder of the World after she floored everyone with her beauty and elegance during ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Ball 2016.

Wearing an exquisitely beaded, dove gray Michael Cinco creation, Liza slayed the red carpet and no one could do a thing but stare. Her complete look elicited praises from virtually everyone with eyes, perhaps only a blind man would not appreciate her that night.

Fashion critics, celebrities, or simple Star Magic Ball watchers simply cannot get over the beauty and the overall impact of Liza on that star-studded night.

Before the ball even ended, people were busy posting and sharing photos of Liza from different angles. She broke the internet, as the cliche goes, and became a hot topic on social media. Netizens simply couldn’t get enough of her. They gushed, and sighed, and simply heaped superlatives on Liza.

The moment she walked into the venue, every attendee knew she was the star of the night. Sure enough, she was awarded Best Dressed Female. If she did not get that, it would have caused a rise of protest.

In an article on Preview, her stylist Perry Tabora revealed some details on how Liza prepared for the annual ball.

He said that that they wanted to achieve “a modern version of Renaisssance fashion,” with the gown and wanted the overall look to be “ethereal and soft”. Thus Liza’s makeup was minimal, and her hair was done simply. Her jewelry, consisted of a pair of “semi-drop three carat diamond earrings” made by Tessera Jewelry.

The actress-model meanwhile, revealed on an Instagram post that she used grey contacts for the night. Liza with grey eyes was a sight to behold!

As for her gown, would you believe that it is fully hand-embroidered? Just look at those details. It must have taken hundreds of hours to finish that Michael Cinco masterpiece.

Perry also revealed on Preview that Liza was very much involved in the process, from the style of her gown to her overall look. That’s why she is credited for co-designing her gown with Michael.

Trendsetter as always

What’s unexpected is that Liza’s supposedly simple hairstyle, with long bangs and a few strands of hair falling down the side of her face, became an instant hit. Hairstylist Brent Sales must have been elated by the response it got.

Netizens started hashtagging the hairstyle as #lizalook and started posting their own versions of it, calling it a #lizasoberanobangschallenge.

Without a doubt, Filipinos acknowledge that Liza is one of the prettiest women in the country, and some are even tagging her as the most beautiful Filipina of her generation.

At only 18 and with her many talents (acting, singing, modeling), Liza still has a long way to go in Philippine showbiz. A lot of her fans are hoping that someday she will gain international attention because, as they say, her beauty is world-class. No wonder, some pageant organizers want Liza to become a candidate for Miss Universe. But then, that’s another story…..
