The new tv series does not feature Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards‘ partner in the phenomenal love team known as AlDub. Nevertheless, Maine Mendoza showed her full support to Alden by wishing him luck on social media.
About an hour prior to the scheduled airing of “Victor Magtanggol”, Maine tweeted:
Congratulations sa dream project, @aldenrichards02! You will always have my support. Best of luck and stay happy! #VictorMagtanggolAngSimula mamaya na pagkatapos ng 24 oras! (VictorMagtanggolTheBeginning later after “24 Oras”)

A few minutes later, Alden replied to Maine’s tweet with words expressing his gratitude. He said, “Maine thank you ng sobra!” complete with 3 emojis of a loudly crying face, crying face and a person with folded hands.
He also retweeted Maine’s endorsement of his new tv show.
Immediately after that exchange, thousands of AlDub fans conveyed how happy they were that Maine is supportive of Alden’s fantasy series.
A lot of AlDub fans have been disappointed that Maine Mendoza is not Alden Richards’ partner in Victor Magtanggol. Most of them were hoping that GMA Network will give AlDub another tv series after the romantic comedy “Destined to be Yours”, which aired in 2017.
The crux of the problem may lie in Maine and Alden belonging to different management teams. Alden is a GMA Network artist while Maine’s career is managed by APT Entertainment, Inc.
Currently, both Alden and Maine have separate major projects.
Maine Mendoza will star in “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles”, an MMFF 2018 film with Vic Sotto and Coco Martin. Apparently, she will be the love interest of Coco in the said film.
Alden meanwhile, now has this primetime fantasy series, “Victor Magtanggol”.
All hope is not lost for AlDub though. In the presscon for Victor Magtanggol, Alden assured that the AlDub love team will continue.
And this early, rumors are circulating that AlDub may have something in store for their fans in 2019. A Valentine’s movie, perhaps? Well, that we will have to wait and see.
