The South Korean boy band, BTS, has recently uploaded on YouTube the new version of the music video for their hit song ‘Idol’. It features the American rapper-songwriter Nicki Minaj (age 35).
What does BTS stand for? Their band name is an acronym for Bangtan Sonyeondan, aka Beyond The Scene.
The first Idol music video was shared on YouTube a week ago and has 138 million views as of this writing.
Aside from Nicki Minaj, clips from the Idol Challenge were included in the music video as well.
BTS Idol was released on August 24, 2018 as the lead single of the album Love Yourself: Answer. An alternative version with Nicki Minaj doing the rap part of the song was added as a bonus track with the digital album.
In the new Idol music video, Nicki Minaj is wearing neon yellow wig with bright-colored stuff around her.
Nicki Minaj’s lines which is in English are translated to Korean at the same time she’s singing them.
At the end of the music video, BTS fans who participated on the Idol Challenge are shown.

BTS broke Taylor Swift’s YouTube record
On August 25, 2018, BTS beat the YouTube record of American Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift (age 28) for Look What You Made Me Do music video.
‘Look What You Made Me Do’ gained 43 million views in its first 24 hours on YouTube. While BTS Idol had 56 million views in 24 hours.
