If you joined me at one of my IG [Instagram] Lives, remember how I talked about some people enjoying bringing others down? Sadly, it is very Pinoy to have what is known as “crab mentality;” you know – “Kundi ako ang successful sisiraan kita dahil sa inggit!”
I said it didn’t sit well with me how some people were criticising Ms. Kris Aquino’s short appearance in “Crazy Rich Asians,” instead of celebrating that she WAS at all part of that Hollywood movie that has now hit #1 at the Box-Office.
I thank all of you who left messages of encouragement for Kris as I requested. Guys, when one of us has the blessing of being chosen among hundreds to become part of a Hollywood movie – especially from a major studio and based on a best-selling book, WE SHOULD BE HAPPY. PROUD.
It opens more doors in world cinema for Filipinos and other Asians, like Ms. Lea Salonga opened doors for many in Broadway. A short – but important – exposure in a film like this should’ve made us all root for Kris.
Now, I know one thing that God in His faithfulness does: He brings you to a place with plans to bring you only FARTHER. Congratulations, Kris, Beej, QOAM! God bless you more. And thank you for making us dayuummm proud!

Please know your heartwarming comments and posts have made me feel immeasurable gratitude. I thank you for the effort to watch @crazyrichasians [Crazy Rich Asians], some of you going multiple times with family, officemates, best friends, school barkadas, and your boyfriends and husbands.
The eyewitness accounts of spontaneous applause and cheering in movie theaters nationwide when my character made her entrance in Colin and Araminta’s wedding, and most significant for me – the pride you, the moviegoers felt in being Filipino during my few minutes portraying Princess Intan in @crazyrichasians [Crazy Rich Asians] – this feeling of solidarity for the sake of our national identity will forever inspire me to strive harder to promote and protect our values, dignity, and grace as a people… walking into the light, with sunbeams filtering in, I embraced the blessing because for that moment- I was you, and you were me. #ilovethephilippines [I love the Philippines]

Yesterday Kiko and I each received a huge balloon arrangement from Kris. They and especially her message made our day! I didn’t even know she was still in Hawaii but it’s just like Kris to not delay anything, especially if it is to show those she cares about how special they are to her.
Thank you, Beej! And you are most welcome. Make the most of your vacation and rest well, because there is like a ton of blessings waiting for your attention when you come home! Lots of love always!!! Ate S. and Kiks. Please swipe left. @krisaquino [Kris Aquino]
Kris Aquino’s letter for Sharon Cuneta, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan
Here’s the full letter of Kris Aquino.
Dearest Sharon and Kiko,
Although my greeting is coming a bit late, please know how much your friendship is appreciated and that I keep both you and your family in my constant prayers for the blessings of life, wisdom, fortitude, and happy contentment.
Ate S, my forever gratitude is yours for the generous kindness and infinitely valuable insights you have shared with me. Thank you for taking me under your wing and giving me the protective shield of a loving Ate. You are special because your heart makes all those your allow inside feel they are home.
Sen. Kiko – like you – I do believe that those of us who have the voice and means to make the Philippines a more stable economy for our children, we must embrace that opportunity because nobody can better understand their needs than us parents. Happy birthday!
Much affection and admiration,
P.S. We all seem to share a lot for Thailand and Japan… I know you like LA but Hawaii is really the best of both worlds because Waikiki is primarily for Japanese tourists. The area manages to still have fresh air, beautiful ocean views, and they have both Benihana and Nobu! Plus for us, Ate S, tax for shopping is only 4.5%.
