Released in Philippine cinemas on September 5, 2018, “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral”, follows the story of Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar, one of the youngest generals during the Philippine-American War.
Del Pilar and his men tried to delay the Americans in their pursuit of General Emilio Aguinaldo by making a brave stand at Mount Tirad. He was shot and killed by a sniper in the end, but their fight against the Americans gave enough time for Aguinaldo to escape.
In Philippine history books, Del Pilar is generally known as the hero of the Battle of Tirad Pass.
