Singer, actress, and Tony awardee Lea Salonga (age 47) is now officially a Grammy nominee.
Lea is nominated along with the cast of the Broadway revival of one-act musical “Once on This Island”, for Best Musical Theater Album.
The Tony awardee is listed as one of the principal soloists of the cast album. She played the role of Erzulie, the beautiful Goddess of Love, from December 2017 to June 2018 in the musical play.
Lea could hardly believe that she is a nominee at the 61st Grammy Awards. She told her followers on Instagram that she even had to go to Grammy.com to confirm her nomination.
The singer said she is thrilled to share her Grammy nomination with her “Island Family” cast. Lea is also excited that at age 47, she can still have a first.
