Catriona Gray (age 24), the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Universe 2018 beauty pageant, wore a colorful national costume which represented the three main islands of the Philippines namely Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
In a video clip by Vogue Thailand, Catriona said her costume accessories represent Mindanao, while her Pintados body suit symbolize the Visayas. The big lantern which served as her backdrop represent Luzon.

Catriona Gray’s national costume was designed by Jearson Demavivas, but a lot of artisans and artists were involved in the creation of her ensemble.

The National Costume Show featured very impressive designs worn by the 94 contestants vying for the title of Miss Universe 2018. The event was held at Nong Nooch Pattaya International Convention Centre in Pattaya, Thailand.
The 67th Miss Universe pageant proper will be held on December 17, 2018 at Impact, Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok, Thailand.
