In 1984, a young programmer named Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead) begins to question reality as he works to adapt a fantasy novel into a video game.
“Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” is a 2018 interactive Netflix film in the science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. In Bandersnatch, viewers make decisions for the main character of the movie, the programmer Butler. The movie has been analyzed by some to have 5 to 10 main endings.
The film is based on a planned Imagine Software video game of the same name which went unreleased after the company filed for bankruptcy. It also alludes to Lewis Carroll’s bandersnatch fictional creature featured in his 1872 novel “Through the Looking-Glass” and his 1874 poem “The Hunting of the Snark”.
