For his “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” finals performance, card magician Shin Lim performed a hair-raising magic trick that left everyone baffled on February 11, 2019.
Shin Lim asked host Terry Crews and judge Howie Mandel to come on stage to see his magic up close and be part of his act.
He asked both to choose a card and sign them. Through his skillful sleight of hand and misdirection, Shin Lim made the cards appear and disappear.
For Howie Mandel’s card, Shin Lim made it appear on Howie Mandel’s seat. Laying the card face down on the table, he had smoke come from the card, making the markings on it disappear. The same card markings were shown tattoed on his chest.
Howie’s card then appears on Shin Lim’s mouth, complete with smoke effects. He then placed Howie’s signed card in a ziploc bag.
A similar trick was done to Terry Crews chosen card.
At the end of the act, Shin Lim makes the whole card deck disappear in smoke as he pushed it down on the table. Terry Crews and Howie Mandel’s cards, which were sealed in a ziploc bag but were made to disappear, were found inside Howie Mandel’s cup, which was on top of the judges’ table.
The whole performance was beautifully executed and will give you goosebumps in the end. And that’s exactly how the host, judges, and audience felt.
Howie Mandel said the card magic was even better up close while Terry Crews described it as “unreal”.
Heidi Klum said she was impressed and said, “Shin, you did it yet again. Another jaw-dropping performance.”
Simon Cowell commented, “I don’t think many people having won the show, would have had the guts to come back again this year and do what you’ve done. And for that, you have my utmost respect. It is the best of the best. And still within that context, you were amazing. Literally amazing.”

Shin Lim is the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 13 in 2018. He is one of the 12 finalists of America’s Got Talent: The Champions. Results of the Finals will be revealed on February 18, 2018.
