AlDub fans are rejoicing now that their idols Alden Richards (age 27) and Maine Mendoza (age 23), also collectively known as the AlDub love team, will be together in the weekly sitcom “Daddy’s Gurl“.

Alden will be a guest who reportedly will be playing the role of “Aldrich” in an upcoming episode of “Daddy’s Gurl”, which airs every Saturday night on GMA Network. His guesting in the sitcom has long been requested by AlDub fans, who have been longing for a project wherein Alden and Maine will star opposite each other again.

The cast of ‘Daddy’s Gurl’, together with Alden Richards had a Facebook live chat with their fans on the GMA Network’s “Kapuso Artists Tambayan”. The camaraderie among them gives a taste as to how Alden’s guesting would be a great addition to the show.

Alden and Maine’s last project together was the romantic drama comedy, “Destined to be Yours”, which aired 63 episodes from February 27 to May 26, 2017.

After that, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza had separate projects. Alden starred in the TV series “Victor Magtanggol” while Maine starred in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 entry “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” with Coco Martin and Vic Sotto.

Aside from their regular stint as co-hosts in the daily noontime show “Eat Bulaga”, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza did not star in any major project together in 2018.

AlDub is one of the strongest love teams in the Philippines and their fans, known collectively as the AlDub Nation, were instrumental in achieving the Guinness World Record of most used hashtag in 24 hours on Twitter, with #AlDubEBTamangPanahon getting 40.7 million tweets.

Discounting the respective personal issues surrounding them, Alden and Maine still exude that unmistakable chemistry that catapulted them to fame as the AlDub love team that once swept a nation off its feet.
