The Aquaman movie which earned $1.1 billion globally is the biggest DC Comics film of all time, and because of that, it’s officially getting a sequel. “Aquaman 2” has been greenlit by Warner Bros. but it’s going to take a bit longer than expected.
Aquaman 2 is confirmed to be released on December 16, 2022. This makes Aquaman 2 the eighth DC movie that has a confirmed release date.
There are many reasons behind why it will take long before we can watch the Aquaman sequel. First, Warner Bros. is not like Marvel who can release movies in a short period of time. And some of the people such as Aquaman director James Wan has other commitments. James Wan is also one of the most demanded guys in Hollywood right now. It’s a long wait but at least Aquaman is getting a sequel.
Jason Momoa will still play the role of Aquaman in the said sequel. Meanwhile, the co-writer of Aquaman’s first installment, David Leslie Johnson-Mcgoldrick, will also write the script for Aquaman 2.
