The world-famous South Korean girl group, Blackpink, gave their Manila fans a concert full of dance, songs, and cute little moments, that will forever be etched in the minds of their fans.
Blinks (the term for Blackpink fans) were ecstatic and must have cried their hearts out one time or the other during the “Blackpink In Your Area” concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on February 2, 2019.
Blackpink, composed of members Kim Ji Soo aka Jisoo (age 24), Jennie Kim aka Jennie (age 23), Lalisa Manoban aka Lisa (age 21), and Park Chae Young aka Rose (age 21), had several costume changes as they sang their hits like “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Boombayah”. “As If It’s Your Last”, and more. They also sang covers of popular English songs.
One of their most applauded numbers is “Stay” their last song for the Manila concert, especially that portion where Jennie lay down on the laps of Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo and Jisoo planted a kiss on Jennie’s cheek.

Aside from their singing and dancing skills, Blackpink charmed everyone with their spontaneous interactions with the audience.
There were moments that fans felt special and “ready to die” since a member of Blackpink looked at them, greeted them, received their gifts, or got their device for a photo.

The Filipino blinks showed how much they loved Blackpink by chanting, giving their idols special gifts, and spreading their appreciation of the group via social media. They also sang “Happy Birthday” for Rose, who will be turning 22 on February 11.

For those who were not able to attend the concert, or what they call “Team Bahay” in the Philippines, they swear that they are going to attend the next time Blackpink will go back to the country. As to when that will be, is a big question mark.
One thing’s for sure, Blackpink will always have a throng of fans waiting for them in the Philippines, should they decide to come back for another concert in the future.
Filipino blinks just hope that the welcome prepared for Blackpink at the airport wouldn’t be as chaotic, the next time around.
After Manila, Blackpink will bring their “In Your Area” concert to Singapore, Indonesia and Taipei. In May 2019, Blackpink will have concerts in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Paris and Barcelona. Tour dates for North America and Australia have not been announced yet.
