The release of the still untitled ‘Bond 25’, a follow-up movie to ‘Spectre’ which was released in 2015, has been delayed once again. Aside from it takes so long to complete the movie, it has had many roadblocks along the way including whether Daniel Craig would return as James Bond for this new 007 installment or not.
After Sony (MGM’s previous partner) lost to Universal about distribution war, the confirmation arrived that Daniel Craig is returning for another chapter in the James Bond film series.
But the roadblocks didn’t stop there. Bond 25 also lost Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle because of creative differences. Finally, the new Bond 25 director is American film director Cary Fukunaga who is known for writing and directing the 2009 film ‘Sin Nombre’ and the 2011 film ‘Jane Eyre’; he also was the director and executive producer of the first season of the HBO series ‘True Detective’, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Bond 25 was first announced to be released in theaters on February 14, 2020.
Now, just recently, it has been reported that the release date of the Bond 25 movie has been moved two months from the first release date. Now it will be released on April 8, 2020.
Since the release of the official announcements, many James Bond fans were relieved because of the signs that things are falling into place again. But for some, Daniel Craig has outgrown his welcome to play the role of James Bond.
There’s an ongoing debate over who should be the next James Bond. The popular Bond-to-be favorite is Idris Elba but he is denying that he will ever play the role of the iconic British secret agent. Henry Cavill is also one of the favorites to play as James Bond in the future.
Bond fans nowadays seem to be more excited to see how Bond 25 will set up the future Bond movies for a new James Bond actor.
As to the Bond 25 cast, there still hasn’t been any confirmation. Although rumors that Helena Bonham Carter as a new villain character is highly anticipated.
The production of Bond 25 is set to start on March 25, 2019. For Bond fans, extra two months of waiting for the new 007 movie release is not really a big deal for them.
