Filipino singer and actress Sarah Geronimo (age 30) aka Popstar Royalty, performed during the historic first visit of Pope Francis to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sarah sang for the bigger crowd outside of the Shaikh Zayed Sports City stadium after the Papal mass.
Wearing an all-white ensemble and a second outfit in pastel blue, both by Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One of Amato Couture, Sarah Geronimo wowed the crowd with her renditions of inspirational songs as well as her original, “Forever’s Not Enough”.
With a repertoire fit for a mini-concert, Sarah entertained the crowd with a total of 9 songs including “The Prayer”, “The Climb”, “Noypi”, “Forever’s Not Enough”, “Only Hope”, “Rise Up”, “Man in tne Mirror”, and “Heal The World”.

The Popstar Royalty shared the stage with The Voice of the Philippines Teens Winner 2017, Jona Soquite, whom she mentored during the competition. Sarah and Jona sang a duet of Dianne Reeves’ “Better Days”. Jona also sang solo a cover of “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing”, and Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” .
Sarah Geronimo’s mini-concert during Pope Francis’ visit to the UAE came as a surprise to many of her fans. Her appearance at the event was under the radar in the Philippines and even some Filipinos attending the event in Abu Dhabi didn’t even know that she will perform after the Papal Mass.
Aside from Sarah Geronimo, hundreds of Filipinos have volunteered for the Papal visit. The choir during the Papal Mass which has more than 100 members, was reportedly composed mostly of Filipinos, followed by Arabs and Indians, according to an article by ABS-CBN News.
The Historic visit by Pope Francis to the UAE
The Papal visit is one of the biggest events in the Arabian Peninsula recently. The Papal Mass was held at the Shaikh Zayed Sports City stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with attendance estimates ranging from 130,000 to 170,000 people.
It is the first time that a pontiff visited the Arabian Peninsula, the birthplace of Islam.
Pope Francis held a mass inside the 45,000-seater stadium after arriving at the venue in an open-top Pope mobile, waving and blessing the tens of thousands who have gathered to see him.

Many of the attendees arrived as early as 2 A.M just to get a chance to see Pope Francis and to attend the mass which started at 10:30 A.M.
The Papal Visit to the UAE was very well organized and was praised by the tens of thousands of attendees who were provided with free transportation, food, and drinks during the event.
