Laine Hardy (age 18) of Livingston, Lousiana sang a cool version of Band of Heathens’ “Hurricane” during the Top 10 Reveal on American Idol 2019.
“Hurricane” was Hardy’s audition piece when he joined American Idol 2018. But he didn’t make it to the Top 24 in that season.

This time around, Laine Hardy sings “Hurricane” like a seasoned performer. With his confidence on an entirely different level, Hardy’s performance of the same song has improved by several notches and everyone took notice.
The American Idol judges gave him a standing ovation and praised his performance. Katy Perry also noted Hardy’s good looks and described his performance as “smokin’ hot”.
Laine Hardy was voted to the Top 10 of American Idol 2019. He joins other contestants who were also voted to the Top 10 like Alejandro Aranda, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laci Kaye Booth, Madison VanDenburg, Wade Cota, and Walker Burroughs. Completing the Top 10 are Alyssa Raghu, Dimitrius Graham, and Uche, who were saved by the judges.
