‘Eerie’ movie earns over P75 million in 7 days

Horror movie 'Eerie' earns more than P75 million, a week after its release in Philippine cinemas.

The horror-thriller movie “Eerie” is a box office success, earning more than P75 million as of April 2, 2019.

Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board, “Eerie” stars Bea Alonzo, Charo Santos-Concio, Maxene Magalona, and Jake Cuenca.

The movie is directed by Mikhail Red, the director of “Birdshot” (2016), the Philippine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards (Oscars 2018).

“Eerie” follows the story of a school guidance counselor named Pat Consolacion (Bea Alonzo), who uncovers the mysteries surrounding the unexpected and gruesome death of a student in a Catholic school for girls.

The Mikhail Red horror movie debuted at the Singapore International Film Festival and had a wide release in Philippine cinemas on March 27, 2019. It will have its screening at the 2019 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival on May 3.

Eerie is still showing in Philippine cinemas as well as cinemas in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
