A happy, outgoing woman named Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke) is hired as a companion for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a former successful banker who became paralyzed after being involved in a motorcycle accident two years prior.
Cynical and depressed because he can no longer live an active life, Will initially reacts coldly to Louisa’s upbeat demeanor and treats her with contempt. But as they got to know each other, they become close friends and eventually fall in love.
This 2016 romantic drama film was adapted by English author Jojo Moyes from her 2012 novel of the same name and is Thea Sharrock’s directorial debut. It grossed $208.3 million worldwide, against a budget of $20 million.
