Laine Hardy (age 18) from Louisiana is the American Idol 2019 winner. He won over Alejandro Aranda (age 24) and Madison VanDenburg (age 17) in the season finale.
Hardy was a contestant in American Idol 2018 but never made it to the Top 24. But when he came back to accompany a friend (Ashton Gill) to audition for American Idol 2019, he was given a Golden Ticket by the Idol Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Hardy hesitated to accept the Golden Ticket at first, but took it just the same.
