Sheland Faelnar (age 17), a certified James Reid and Nadine Lustre fan (aka JaDine) from Caloocan City sang her own version of “Symphony” by Clean Bandit (feat. Zara Larsson) during the Idol Philippines 2019 auditions.
Except for her gestures, which judges said were too much, Sheland Faelnar impressed the judges with her performance.
Sheland got the 4 yes votes from Idol Philippines 2019 Judges James Reid, Vice Ganda, Regine Velasquez, and Moira Dela Torre and earned a Golden Ticket to Idol City.

Regine Velasquez said that she did not expect a big voice coming out of someone so small. She said she didn’t hear Sheland’s voice at first but when she got to the chorus, “I love your placement,” Regine said. She added that Sheland seems to know what she’s doing and she wants to hear more.
Vice Ganda said Sheland is right for the contest and she’s the type that they are looking for in this kind of competition. He congratulated Sheland even before he gave his vote.
Moira Dela Torre said, “I love your voice, I really love your tone. It’s good that you have a wide range. I am just a bit distracted with your gestures. Honestly, you don’t need too much of that because you are already so good.”
You’re very cute. I’ll be honest at the start I thought your voice was very beautiful, but it wasn’t there yet. But I now understand when you said your “own version”. You wanted to surprise us at the end. And I was very surprised. The acting, it’s a bit too much, but maybe that’s just really your style. Maybe just use it when necessary.
Aside from getting a Golden Ticket, Sheland Faelnar got a bonus hug from her idol James Reid and a selfie as well.
