The CFDA Awards 2019 was held at the Brooklyn Museum on Monday, June 3, 2019, and was hosted by Hasan Minhaj and Jessica Williams.

CFDA stands for Council of Fashion Designers of America, a non-profit trade association of more than 450 fashion and accessory designers.

Founded in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert, CFDA is now headed by the newly elected Chairman, Tom Ford. He took over the leadership from Dianne von Furstenberg, who was CFDA’s President since 2009.

The CFDA Fashion Awards aka CFDA Awards, honors excellence in fashion design. It is considered “the Oscars of fashion”. Nominations for the awards are submitted by the Fashion Guild, a group of over 1,500 CFDA members, fashion editors, retailers, and stylists.
