The ‘Double Shot at Love’ finale aired on June 27, 2019.
Bachelors Vinny Guadagnino (age 31) and Paul D. DelVecchio Jr. (age 38), aka DJ Pauly D, each had to pick one contestant to date exclusively.
Starting out with 20 contestants for the season, only 4 contestants remained during the D’ouble Shot at Love’ finale.
Nikki Hall and Derynn Paige vied for Pauly’s heart, while Elle Wilson and Alysse Joyner were for Vinny.
First to announce his choice was Vinny, who picked Alysse over Elle.
The 25-year-old Elle, who’s from Pennsylvania, was surprised and said:
I’m definitely heartbroken. I thought we had an effortless connection. We could have had a great thing.
Meanwhile, DJ Pauly D sent Derynn home, who said:
I’m so much hotter than her and nicer than her. Does any of this make sense to anyone?
Then in a surprise twist, Pauly also told Nikki that he would rather be solo.
He said:
The feelings you carry, that didn’t happen for me… As much as it kills me to say this, I’m rolling solo for now.
So as it turns out, it’s only Alysse Joyner who wasn’t sent home and could be called the winner of “A Double Shot at Love.”
If you’re wondering whether or not Vinny and Alysse are still dating after the show, reports say, they’re not.
A tweet by Vinny hours after the finale revealed that he and Alysse weren’t allowed to see each other publicly after filming so as not to spoil the ending.
That restriction lasted for 5 months until the finale aired.
“Very weird situation to be put in after the finale,” Vinny said.
Vinny said he tried to keep it alive through text. He ended his tweet with, “Still think she’s amazing. Wish her the best.”
