A rising drug lord in New York City named Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes) becomes megalomaniacal while Scotty Appleton (Ice-T), a maverick police detective, vows to stop him.
‘New Jack City” is a 1991 action gangster film based upon an original story and screenplay by Thomas Lee Wright, and directed by Mario Van Peebles in his directorial debut, who also co-stars in the film.
The movie was praised by film critics for its cast, storyline, and soundtrack. New Jack City had a domestic total gross of USD 47.6 million on a budget of USD 8 million.
