This survivalist movie happens on a faraway mountaintop in Latin America. A group composed of eight young soldiers and rebels, watch over an American hostage (Julianne Nicholson) and a conscripted milk cow for a shadowy force known as “The Organization”.
After an ambush drives the young rebels into the jungle, breaking their intricate bond, their mission begins to collapse.
Monos is a 2019 drama film directed by Alejandro Landes and written by Landes and Alexis Dos Santos. The critically acclaimed movie won over 10 awards in several film festivals including the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival; Jury Awards for Best Film, Best Actress (Sofia Buenaventura), Best Director and Best Cinematography at the Newport Beach Film Festival; and Blue Angel -Best Film at the Art Film Fest in Slovakia.
