Two bikers named Wyatt and Billy (Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper) head from L.A to New Orleans, traveling through the American Southwest and South carrying the proceeds from a drug deal. Along the way, they meet a man who bridges a counter-culture gap they are unaware of.

The movie is a landmark counterculture film and was widely praised by critics. Film director Dennis Hopper received the First Film Award at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival. The film got 2 nominations at the 42nd Academy Awards, for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Jack Nicholson) and for Best Original Screenplay.
“Easy Rider” was also a huge commercial success, grossing USD 60 million worldwide from a budget of no more than USD 400,000.
