Pulp Fiction is a 1994 crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, who conceived it with Roger Avary. It tells several stories of criminal Los Angeles.

The lives of two hit men named Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), a boxer (Bruce Willis), a gangster’s wife (Uma Thurman), and two diner bandits (Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer) intertwine in tales of violence and redemption.

The film’s title refers to pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels popular during the mid-20th century, known for their graphic violence and punchy dialogue.

“Pulp Fiction” was a critical and commercial success, earning USD 214 million at the box office against a budget of USD 8.5 million. The movie won the Palme d’Or at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture and won for Best Original Screenplay.

Considered as Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece, “Pulp Fiction” appears on many critic’s list as one of the best films ever made.
