Golden Buzzer act Akrobatika (stylized AKrobatiKa), the acrobatic troupe from the Central Coast, got its 2nd Golden Buzzer during the semi-finals round in Australia’s Got Talent 2019 (Season 9).
Akrobatika received its first Golden Buzzer from judge Manu Feildel, during their audition.
The troupe’s semi-final performance was described by host Ricki-Lee Coulter as absolutely breaththaking. Manu said he will press the Golden Buzzer again and again for the group, if he can, and that he’s certain they will win the Grand Final.
As the audience shouted ‘Golden Buzzer’ for Akrobatika, the pressure was on celebrity guest judge Todd McKenney, the only one in the judges panel who can give out a Golden Buzzer for the night. Mainstay judges Manu, Nicole Scherzinger, Shane Jacobson, and Lucy Durack have given their Golden Buzzers during the Auditions round.
McKenney, who’s also a judge on Australian TV’s “Dancing With the Stars”, waved his arms and told the audience to “wait.” He then explained that dance, choreography, and acrobatics is his thing and that he grew up in an acrobatic studio, where he spent his childhood. He said he knows “how difficult it is to have that many dancers, dancing that precisely,” and then he praised the “amazing choreographer” of the group.
In no time, McKenney said, “You know what, I don’t care about Australia, I wanna see you again!” And with that, McKenney banged the Golden Buzzer for Akrobatika, advancing them immediately to the Grand Final.
Of the 6 acts who performed in Semi-Final 4, Akrobatika and comedian Umit Bali (Judges’ Choice) advanced to the Grand Final.
