Late Late Show guest host Harry Styles switches to the performance area to play “Adore You” off his new album, “Fine Line.”
“Adore You” is a song by English singer and songwriter Harry Styles. It was released through Erskine and Columbia Records on 6 December 2019 as the third single from his upcoming second studio album, Fine Line. On November 20, a Twitter account with the username “@visiteroda” began a marketing campaign in which they promoted the island of Eroda, setting up a website, posting photos, and answering questions from fellow Twitter users. The island was soon proven to not exist. On 2 December, Styles announced that a new single, “Adore You”, would be released on 6 December, with Eroda, “adore” backwards, being the main focus of the music video.
The music video was also released on 6 December 2019. The video, just under eight minutes long, shows Styles as a boy from the fishing village of Eroda who is an outcast due to him being the only one on the island who smiles. In the video, Styles finds a fish who is washed up on shore, and cares for it as it grows, much to the judgement of fellow Eroda citizens. At the end of the video, the fish bursts out of its tank, and residents help Styles return the fish back to the water. The main scenes of the video featuring Harry Styles were filmed in the Scottish fishing village of St Abbs. Additional supporting scenes were filmed in Cockenzie and Port Seton.
Fine Line is the upcoming second studio album by Harry Styles, scheduled to be released on 13 December 2019. Three singles precede the album’s official release, “Lights Up”, “Watermelon Sugar”, and “Adore You”. On 26 August 2019, it was reported that the singer was putting “final touches” on his album. About the album, Styles explained that it was “all about romance, and this feeling of sadness”. He further admitted to using psychedelic drugs during the recording process.
Harry Edward Styles (born 1 February 1994) is an English singer, songwriter, and actor. His musical career began in 2010 when he auditioned for the British singing competition The X Factor. He was eliminated early on, but was brought back to form the boy band One Direction. The band finished in third place and signed with Syco. They earned four number-one studio albums on the Billboard 200, and four top-five singles on the Billboard Hot 100. They embarked on four world tours and won a number of accolades. The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
Styles signed with Columbia Records as a solo artist in 2016. His self-titled debut album was released in 2017 and topped the charts of fourteen countries. His debut single, “Sign of the Times”, was released earlier that year and topped the charts in seven countries, including the UK Singles Chart; it also peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, and was named Rolling Stone’s Single of the Year. Styles also made his film debut in Christopher Nolan’s war film Dunkirk (2017), which was a critical and commercial success. His second studio album Fine Line will be released on 13 December 2019.
