The front desk clerk at a hotel is suspected of a murder that occurs during his shift. The film was announced in February 2018, with Michael Cristofer directing from his own screenplay, and Tye Sheridan cast to star.
Helen Hunt, Ana de Armas and John Leguizamo were cast in May 2018, with filming beginning in Utah on May 21, and will continue to June 22. In June 2018, Johnathon Schaech joined the cast.
Tye Sheridan is an American actor. He is best known for playing Scott Summers / Cyclops in the X-Men film series (2016–2019), as well as Wade Watts in Ready Player One (2018). Sheridan made his feature film debut in Terrence Malick’s experimental drama film The Tree of Life (2011) and had his first leading role in Jeff Nichols’s film Mud (2012). He also co-starred in David Gordon Green’s drama Joe (2013) and the period thriller The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015).
Sheridan was born in Elkhart, Texas. His mother, Stephanie (née Wright) Sheridan, owns a beauty salon, and his father, Bryan Sheridan, is an employee of UPS. He has a younger sister, Madison. He was enrolled in the Elkhart Independent School District until he began his film career and received tutoring on film sets. Sheridan graduated from high school. He is Christian.
Ana de Armas is a Cuban-Spanish actress. She made her acting debut in 2006 in the Spanish film Una rosa de Francia, and went on to star in the television show El Internado (2007–2010). In 2015, she starred in her first American film, Knock Knock, which was followed by roles in the 2016 films Hands of Stone and War Dogs.
Armas had her breakout role as AI hologram Joi in the science fiction film Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and received critical acclaim for her leading role as the nurse Marta Cabrera in the mystery film Knives Out (2019). The latter earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.
