9-1-1: Lone Star is an American procedural TV series created for Fox by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. The series is a spin-off of the television series 9-1-1, and was ordered by Fox in May 2019. It premiered on January 19, 2020.
Set in Texas, 9-1-1: Lone Star stars Rob Lowe as a sophisticated New York firefighter who, along with his son TK, relocates to Austin. There, he tries to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.
In May, 2019, it was announced Rob Lowe had been cast in the lead role of the series. On September 11, 2019, Liv Tyler was announced to star opposite of Lowe. Jim Parrack joined the cast on September 18, 2019. Two days later, Ronen Rubinstein and Sierra McClain were announced to have joined the cast. Rob Lowe portrays firefighter captain Owen Strand, who is diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the series as a result of being a first responder on 9/11. Lowe is an American actor, producer, and director. He is the recipient of two Screen Actors Guild Awards and has been nominated for six Golden Globes Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award.

Liv Tyler plays the role of Michelle Blake, a paramedic, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) captain. Tyler is an American actress, producer, singer and former model. She is best known for her portrayal of Arwen Undómiel in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–03).
Tyler began a career in modeling at age 14 and later decided to focus on acting. She made her film debut in Silent Fall (1994) and went on to achieve critical recognition with starring roles in Heavy, Empire Records (both 1995), That Thing You Do!, and Stealing Beauty in 1996. Actor and director Ronen Rubinstein (age 26) portrays Tyler Kennedy “TK” Strand, a firefighter who is also Owen’s son. TK is gay and is a recovering addict, who suffered an overdose before his arrival in Austin. Rubinstein was born on November 7, 1993 in Rehovot, Israel. Aside from 9-1-1: Lone Star (2020), he also appeared in Orange Is the New Black (2013) and Dead of Summer (2016).
