FBI is an American crime drama TV series on CBS which premiered on September 25, 2018. It was created by Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, the same team behind the Law & Order franchise. It received a straight-to-series commission for 13 episodes in September 2017 and received a full season order from CBS, which was announced in October 2018. In January 2019, CBS renewed the series for a second season which premiered on September 24, 2019

The series focuses on the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe.

The lead character in the FBI series is Special Agent Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym), who comes from a multigenerational law enforcement family. Bell is the widow of a Wall Street Journal investigative reporter. She is deeply committed to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki), a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI.

Overseeing the team is Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castille (Alana de la Garza), who operates under intense pressure and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto), the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Kristen Chazal (Ebonée Noel) is the team’s most valued resource, a brilliant analyst recruited straight out of university who can piece together the big picture faster than anyone. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence.

Canadian actress and former fashion model Missy Peregrym (age 37) plays the lead character Maggie Bell in the FBI series. Peregryn is known for her roles as Haley Graham in the 2006 film “Stick It” and as Officer Andy McNally on the ABC and Global Television Network series “Rookie Blue” (2010–2015), for which she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in 2016.

American actor Zeeko Zaki (age 30) portrays Special Agent Omar Adom “O. A.” Zidan, a role for which he is best known. Zaki moved to North Carolina in 2010 and worked in theater before auditioning for television roles. He appeared in bit part roles in various films and TV series before landing recurring roles in Six and 24: Legacy, and in Valor. “O. A” in FBI is Zaki’s first lead role. The role was originally written as Latino but FBI series co-creator Dick Wolf was impressed enough by Zaki’s audition tape to change the character to mirror his background and ethnicity.
