For Life Season 1 Episode 3 – Determined to gain access to his police file, Aaron decides to represent an inmate from Safiya’s drug rehabilitation program whose brother is a cop. District Attorney Maskins and Assistant District Attorney O’Reilly close in on proof of Aaron’s malfeasance during Jose Rodriguez’s trial, targeting Marie as a way to get to Aaron. “For Life,” a co-production from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios, airs Tuesday, February 25th, on ABC.

Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., For Life is a fictional serialized legal and family drama about a prisoner who becomes a lawyer, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. The show will also, through the window of his ferocious struggle and his complicated relationship with a progressive female prison warden, examine the flaws and challenges in our penal and legal systems.
On October 11, 2018, it was announced that ABC had given the pilot production production commitment. The pilot was written by Hank Steinberg who was also set to executive produce alongside with Alison Greenspan, Curtis Jackson, Doug Robinson, Issac Wright Jr. and George Tillman Jr. Production companies involved with the pilot include G-Unit Film & Television, Doug Robinson Productions, ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television. On February 8, 2019, the production officially received a pilot order.
On May 11, 2019, it was announced that ABC had given the series order, now titled For Life, together with United We Fall. A few days later, it was announced that the series would premiere as a mid-season replacement. On November 21, a premiere date of February 11, 2020 was announced accompanied by a series trailer. In March 2019, it was announced that Nicholas Pinnock, Indira Varma, Joy Bryant, Mary Stuart Masterson, Boris McGiver, Tyla Harris and Dorian Missick had joined cast the in the pilot’s lead roles.
Nicholas Pinnock was born in Balham, London. He is the youngest of three children. Both of his parents are Jamaican. His mother is a retired midwife, and his father is an electrical engineer who works for a major global engineering company. As a result, Pinnock spent his early childhood living in Saudi Arabia. On his return to England, he was enrolled at Corona Stage Academy in Hammersmith, London at the age of 12. Whilst there, in his first week, he made his professional debut landing several jobs as a model and child actor in adverts, music videos, film and television. Continuing his vocational training, Pinnock attended a three-year musical theatre course at the London Studio Centre. After the first year, he decided acting was his first love and in the following years, concentrated on drama and contemporary dance. After graduating, Pinnock joined Lea Anderson’s Contemporary Dance Company, the Featherstonehaughs, for several years.
Varma was born in Bath, Somerset, the only child of an Indian father and a Swiss mother who was of part Genoese Italian descent. She was a member of Musical Youth Theatre Company and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, in 1995.
