Riverdale is an American teen drama TV series based on the characters of Archie Comics. The series debuted on January 26, 2017, to positive reviews. In January 2019, The CW renewed the series for a fourth season consisting of 22 episodes. The fourth season premiered on October 9, 2019.
New Zealand actor KJ Apa (age 22) zoomed to fame when he took on the role of Archie Andrews in 2017. Prior to Riverdale, Apa also starred as Kane Jenkins in the primetime soap opera Shortland Street and as teenage Ethan Montgomery in the comedy-drama film A Dog’s Purpose.
Lili Reinhart (age 23) is an American actress, who also became known for portraying Betty Cooper on Riverdale. Reinhart was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in the nearby town of Bay Village. She developed a love for singing, acting, and dancing at the age of 10, and begged her mom to drive her to New York for auditions. Reinhart moved to Los Angeles when she was 18 years old to pursue acting and almost gave up after five months.
Portraying Veronica Lodge is American actress Camila Mendes (age 25). Mendes’ first acting job was a commercial for IKEA. She was cast as sophomore Veronica Lodge in 2016. She made her feature film debut as Morgan in The New Romantic in 2018 and joined the cast of The Perfect Date, which was released on Netflix on April 12, 2019.
American actor Cole Sprouse (age 27) portrays Jughead Jones on Riverdale. Cole is the twin brother of Dylan Sprouse and is known for his role as Cody Martin on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spinoff The Suite Life on Deck. He shared some notable roles he with his brother in Grace Under Fire (from 1993 to 1998, Big Daddy (1999 film), and The Master of Disguise (2002). Cole began appearing without his brother in episodes of NBC’s television sitcom Friends in 2001, as Ross Geller’s son, Ben. Cole’s film credits include A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper (2007), The Kings of Appletown (2008), and Five Feet Apart (2019), among others.
