Upload is a sci-fi sitcom satire that takes place in the near future, where people who are near death can be “uploaded” into virtual reality hotels run by 6 tech firms. Clients can have a virtual afterlife of their choice.
The series is created and written by Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) who also serves as showrunner and co-executive producer. Daniels also directed the pilot. Howard Klein serves as an executive producer along with Daniels.

It was announced on September 8, 2017 that Amazon had given a pilot order to a new single-camera comedy series created by Greg Daniels. On July 28, 2018, it was announced that Amazon had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of ten episodes. Production companies involved with the series are slated to include 3 Arts Entertainment.
