Hakan Berg (age 49), a magician from Sweden who calls himself the “King of Birds”, performed a hilarious magic routine during the Auditions round on Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 14).
Berg’s magic act, which mostly focused on birds appearing and disappearing onstage, was enhanced by his comical ability and perfect timing.
The comic magician earned a standing ovation from Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams and from the audience. He got 4 yes votes from the judges and advanced to the next round of the competition.

Judges Comments:
Alesha Dixon thought Hakan’s performance was absolutely hilarious. “Brilliantly barking mad and funny in all the right places. I loved it,” Alesha said.
David Walliams commented. “I just love things that are just absolutely silly.” Walliams said that when Hakan came in he wasn’t quite impressed but admitted he was wrong.
Simon Cowell thinks the less they know about Hakan, that makes him more interesting. “You’re funny and I think you’re clever as well.”
Amanda Holden said Hakan was very natural and said it was very much like a Tommy Cooper act . Hakan said he loves comic magician Tommy Cooper and actor John Cleese. Amanda continued and said it was kind of “oddly British, even though it was eccentrically Swedish.”
Britain’s Got Talent (aka BGT) is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. It is hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (also known as Ant and Dec), and produced by both Thames (formerly Talkback Thames) and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV every year. The show premiered on June 9, 2007 following the success of America’s Got Talent the previous year.
Every year, contestants of any age can audition for the contest with whatever talent they wish to demonstrate. Auditionees seek to impress a panel of judges – at present, consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams – in order to secure a place in the live rounds of BGT. The winner gets a cash prize and a place within that year’s performances for the Royal Variety Performance before members of the British Royal Family.
Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 14) will air in two parts, the first in April 2020 with pre-recorded audition episodes, while the second containing the live rounds to be aired at a later date. The series was split into two parts because of the Covid-19 pandemic or coronavirus outbreak and the resulting lockdown issued by the British government.
