NOS4A2 (pronounced Nosferatu) is an American supernatural horror drama TV series created by Jami O’Brien, based on the novel of the same name by Joe Hill. The series premiered on June 2, 2019 on AMC and has been renewed for a second season which will premiere on June 21, 2020.
The series follows Victoria “Vic” McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), a young working-class artist in New England, who discovers that she has a supernatural ability to track the immortal Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Manx feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted Christmas Village of Manx’s imagination. Vic must strive to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without falling victim to him herself.
Australian actress Ashleigh Cummings (age 28) portrays the role of Vic. Cummings became known for her role as Robyn Mathers in Tomorrow, When the War Began, for which she earned a nomination for Best Young Actor at the 2010 Australian Film Institute Awards. Cummings is also known for her role as Dorothy Williams in ABC1’s Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and her role as Debbie Vickers in Puberty Blues.
On April 10, 2018, it was announced that AMC had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of ten episodes. On March 30, 2019, it was announced that NOS4A2 will premiere on June 2, 2019. AMC’s renewal of NOS4A2 for a second season was announced on July 20, 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con.
On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, NOS4A2 holds a 70% approval rating based on 23 reviews.
