Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and Ben (Jay R. Ferguson) go apartment hunting as they take on the next step in building their life together. Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Becky (Lecy Goranson) take Beverly Rose on a road trip to Mexico to meet her father for the first time while Dan (John Goodman) reluctantly shares his financial troubles with Louise (Katey Sagal) as he struggles with the pending foreclosure of the house.
The season finale was directed by Gail Manusco and its teleplay was written by Emily Wilson.

The Conners is an American sitcom TV series created for ABC as a spin-off continuation of the series Roseanne. It is produced by Werner Entertainment, with Bruce Helford serving as showrunner. The cast includes John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, and Maya Lynne Robinson, with all except Robinson reprising roles from Roseanne.
The show follows the Conners, a working class family struggling to get by on a modest household income. After the death of the original show’s lead character Roseanne, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in their home in the fictional Lanford, Illinois, in a way they never have before.
The series started its development following the cancellation of Roseanne in May 2018, due to controversial comments by Roseanne star Roseanne Barr on Twitter. A month later, ABC ordered the series and confirmed the adult principal cast’s involvement.
The Conners premiered on October 16, 2018 and ABC ordered an extra episode, bringing the episode order to 11. On March 22, 2019, the show was renewed for a second season of 13 episodes. ABC ordered six extra episodes in May, bringing the episode order to 19. The second season premiered on September 24, 2019.
