CammWess (age 22) from South Carolina performed “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves during the Live Top 17 Performances on The Voice 2020 (Season 18).
Kelly Clarkson exclaimed “Oh My God!” after CammWess’ emotional performance and wiped her tears away with a tissue. Though there was no time to get Kelly’s comment, she was obviously affected by CammWess’ beautiful rendition.
Coach John Legend said CammWess’ performance was stunning and emotional and that CammWess took them on a journey. “Your voice is just honey butter, I keep saying it, but it just flows between your falsetto. Everything you’re doing – powerful, emotional, beautiful. America, you know what to do, vote for this man.”
CammWess became one of the Top 9 semi-finalists through the public’s vote. He got the public vote again, to become one of the finalists for The Voice 2020. CammWess will go against Micah Iverson, Todd Tilghman, Thunderstorm Artis, and Toneisha Harris in the finale which will be aired on May 18, 2020.

“Rainbow” is a song recorded by American country music artist Kacey Musgraves. It was released as the fifth single from her third studio album Golden Hour (2018) in February 2019. The song was nominated for Song of the Year and won Music Video of the Year at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards.
Season 18 of The Voice premiered at 8PM on February 24, 2020 on NBC and will air Mondays at 8 PM. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their third, fifth and eighteenth seasons, respectively. Nick Jonas joined the panel as a new coach, replacing Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Carson Daly returned for his eighteenth season as host.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, production has done some adjustments. For the first time ever, there will be only three weeks of Live Shows: the Playoffs, the Semi-Final, and the Finale. That’s a big drop compared to six weeks of Live Shows in Season 17.
The three weeks of live shows will also air as lives done at each contestant’s and coach’s home.
As to the voting system, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists and artists who receive the fewest votes will be eligible for the “Instant Save”. America will then save their favorite performer by voting on “The Voice” app (available on iOS and Android) or NBC.com. The artists with the fewest number of votes will be “sent home” or eliminated each week.
