Zan Fiskum (age 22) from Seattle, Washington performs “Blowin’ in the Wind” by Bob Dylan during the Live Top 17 Performances on The Voice 2020 (Season 18).
Coach John Legend said Zan’s performance was so beautiful. He said, “You have such artistry, such a gift, such a journey you took us on with this song. You showed us every part of your voice. You had so much nuance and subltlety in all of the choices you made. Everything felt so intentional and purposeful, and it was a gorgeous, gorgeous performance.”
Kelly Clarkson commented that it’s the best version of the song that she has ever heard and it was so good.
John picked Zan to be part of the Top 9 finalists. Team Legend will be going into the semi-finals on May 11, 2020 with two contenders – CammWess (Public’s vote) and Zan Fiskum (John’s choice).

“Blowin’ in the Wind” by Bob Dylan was released as a single and on his album The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan in 1963. It reached number two on the Billboard pop chart. The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1994. In 2004, it was ranked number 14 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.
Season 18 of The Voice premiered at 8PM on February 24, 2020 on NBC and will air Mondays at 8 PM. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their third, fifth and eighteenth seasons, respectively. Nick Jonas joined the panel as a new coach, replacing Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Carson Daly returned for his eighteenth season as host.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, production has done some adjustments. For the first time ever, there will be only three weeks of Live Shows: the Playoffs, the Semi-Final, and the Finale. That’s a big drop compared to six weeks of Live Shows in Season 17.
The three weeks of live shows will also air as lives done at each contestant’s and coach’s home.
As to the voting system, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists and artists who receive the fewest votes will be eligible for the “Instant Save”. America will then save their favorite performer by voting on “The Voice” app (available on iOS and Android) or NBC.com. The artists with the fewest number of votes will be “sent home” or eliminated each week.
