The 100 is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama TV series that premiered on March 19, 2014, on The CW. Developed by Jason Rothenberg, it is loosely based on the book series of the same name by Kass Morgan.

In April 2019, the series was renewed for a seventh and final season, which will consist of 16 episodes and premiered on May 20, 2020.

The series follows a group of post-apocalyptic survivors, chiefly a group of criminal adolescents, including Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley), Finn Collins (Thomas McDonell), , Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos), Jasper Jordan (Devon Bostick), Monty Green (Christopher Larkin), Raven Reyes (Lindsey Morgan), John Murphy (Richard Harmon), and Wells Jaha (Eli Goree). They are among the first people from a space habitat, the Ark, who return to Earth after a nuclear apocalypse.

In Season 6, after 125 years in cryosleep and traveling through the stars, Clarke, Bellamy and the rest of the heroes who found the Earth unsurvivable, are brought to a new habitable world called Alpha, aka Sanctum. With the credo that they should be the good guys, Clarke and Bellamy lead a group down to this mysterious world, hoping to start anew and to finally find peace. They discover a new society led by ruling families known as Primes. But not everything on Sanctum is as perfect as it seems. There are dangers both seen and unseen. The group also discovers a mysterious rebel group known as the Children of Gabriel.

In Season 7, the inhabitants of Sanctum try to live together in peace, following the aftermath of the events in Season 6.

Filming for The 100 takes place in and around Vancouver, British Columbia. On March 12, 2020, Warner Bros. Television shut down production on all of their shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, writer Kim Shumway confirmed that filming for the seventh season had been completed.

On Rotten Tomatoes, The 100 holds a 92% average approval rating across its 6 seasons. Its first season has a 76% approval rating based on 37 reviews. On Metacritic, the first season scores 63 out of 100 points, based on 26 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews”.
