Ember Trio, a contemporary string trio, performed an amazing number during the Auditions round on Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 14).
The audience and the BGT judges gave the trio a standing ovation for their rendition. The BGT judges ultimately gave them 4 YES votes, advancing them to the next round of the competition.

Ember Trio is composed of violinist Elliot and cellists Tom and Chris. They began uploading contemporary pop interpretations on YouTube in 2015. In a year’s time, the trio amassed over 150 million views across all social media. They have performed in several countries around the world.
Judges’ Comments:
David Walliams loved Ember Trio’s performance. “It was stunning. It was really exciting. I love the visuals as well, they were brilliant, really added something,” he said.
Alesha Dixon noted how one of the Ember Trio members literally broke the string on his bow. She said that the whole thing sounded like the soundtrack to a movie or something. Simon said it’s like from a James Bond movie. Alesha agreed and said, “It just felt epic and atmospheric and intense.”
Amanda Holden said she felt the same thing. “I got goosebumps all over me from the minute you started. I thought that was such a great act.”
Simon Cowell commented “I think you guys have got the talent and also amazing creativity.”
Britain’s Got Talent (aka BGT) is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. It is hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (also known as Ant and Dec), and produced by both Thames (formerly Talkback Thames) and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV every year. The show premiered on June 9, 2007 following the success of America’s Got Talent the previous year.
Every year, contestants of any age can audition for the contest with whatever talent they wish to demonstrate. Auditionees seek to impress a panel of judges – at present, consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams – in order to secure a place in the live rounds of BGT. The winner gets a cash prize and a place within that year’s performances for the Royal Variety Performance before members of the British Royal Family.
Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 14) will air in two parts, the first in April 2020 with pre-recorded audition episodes, while the second containing the live rounds to be aired at a later date. The series was split into two parts because of the Covid-19 pandemic or coronavirus outbreak and the resulting lockdown issued by the British government.
