Volition follows the story of James (Adrian Glynn McMorran), a man gifted with clairvoyance, who tries to change his fate when a series of events leads to a vision of his own imminent murder.
This time-bending cerebral science-fiction thriller is directed by Tony Dean Smith, marking his feature directorial debut. Tony Smith co-wrote Volition with his brother, Ryan W. Smith.

Volition was awarded as Best Feature at the Philp K. Dick Film Festival. The movie also won Best SciFi Feature at the Shriekfest 2019 and Best Sound Design at the 2019 New York City Horror Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best Sound in a Motion Picture at the Leo Awards 2020. Child actor Jaden Oehr, who played the role of young James, was nominated for Best Actor in a Feature Film Supporting/Principal Role Age 7-9 at The Joey Awards, Vancouver in 2019.
Canada-based actor and musician Adrian Glynn McMorran plays the lead role of James. Prior to Volition, McMorran has been featured in numerous TV shows including Supernatural, Smallville and the CW’s Arrow. He has also appeared in feature films such as Josie and the Pussycats and 50/50.
Magda Apanowicz (age 35) plays the role of Angela. Apanowicz is a Canadian actress best known for the TV series Kyle XY and Continuum. Recently, she starred as Sandy in the Netflix thriller series You. Her film credits include Riverburn, The Butterfly Effect, Slither, and The Green Inferno.
