Playing the role of Riley is American actress and singer Alexandra Shipp (age 28), who rose to prominence for portraying singer Aaliyah in the Lifetime television film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B (2014). She is also known for her role as Kimberly Woodruff in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton (2015), as Storm in the X-men franchise, and as Abby Suso in Love, Simon (2018).
Australian actor Nicholas Hamilton (age 20) portrays Chris. Hamilton is known for portraying Rellian in Captain Fantastic, and Henry Bowers in It and It Chapter Two.
