Sheldon Riley from Sydney, Australia, sings a wonderful rendition of “idontwannabeyouanymore” by Billie Eilish during the Auditions on America’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 15).
Wearing a stylish face mask and not speaking any word even when asked by Simon Cowell in the pre-performance chat, Sheldon surprised the judges with his soulful voice.
After his performance, Sheldon said he’s passionate about fashion and music, but he didn’t really talk that much nor did people want to talk to him. “So, it wasn’t really until I started doing this that people really looked at me, or really cared, to be honest with you.”
The AGT judges ultimately gave Sheldon 3 “Yes” votes, taking note of his voice and the mystery he exudes.

Prior to joining America’s Got Talent, Sheldon Riley was a contestant on The Voice Australia 2018 and 2019 (Season 7 and Season 8). He placed third in the said competition in 2018, and was a semi-finalist in the succeeding year. He was also on the eight season of The X Factor, as a member of Time and Place, who were eliminated on the first live show.

Simon Cowell said he loved the fact that he does not even know what Sheldon Riley really looked like. “I like mysterious people,” he said.
Howie Mandel said Sheldon has an amazing voice. “And the fact that I don’t know what you look like, and the costume, and the drama – for me, that’s what made this great.”
Sofia Vergara said she wished they could see Sheldon’s face because she thinks he’s very handsome.
America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 15 premiered in the United States on May 26, 2020, on NBC. For this season, AGT judges are Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, returning Heidi Klum, and newcomer Sofia Vergara.
This season is most notable for its production being affected by the COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic in 2020, which impacted audition sessions. The program initially moved to filming without an audience present at auditions, before ultimately suspending production. Auditions were later allowed to continue, but via online applications from those quarantined in their homes.
The production staff decided to push through with the broadcast as planned and premiere on May 26.
Production resumed the week of June 22, 2020, filming on a film backlot in Simi Valley, decorated to look like a drive-in movie theater. Everyone, including the judges and Crews, wore masks when not on camera. The Judge Cuts round was reduced from four episodes to one, and the acts were reduced from 72 to 60. The number of live shows is expected to feature 44 acts over four weeks, compared to 36 acts appearing over three weeks last season. Producers are still deciding where the live shows will be shot and if audience members will be present.
